Gallup-McKinley County Schools is excited to welcome families to our new two-way communication platform! This is a simple, convenient way to stay connected with your child’s school, teachers, and staff all in one place!
With this new platform, important school communication is easier to find, access, and respond to. Parents and guardians can receive messages directly from school staff and reply, making it easier than ever to stay connected with your child’s school. Teachers will also use the platform to share class-specific announcements, updates, reminders, and important information in their dedicated classroom spaces. This means you can stay up to date on what’s happening in your child’s specific class without having to search through multiple places for information.
From classroom reminders to messages from school staff, this new platform brings the conversations that matter most directly to you. We’re excited to welcome GMCS families to this new way of communicating and look forward to staying connected with you throughout the school year! As we continue rolling out this new platform across our schools, teachers are putting the finishing touches on their ‘Rooms’. Be sure to check back regularly as more ‘Rooms’ become available, with full classroom communication coming together soon.
To log into Rooms in the GMCS app, open the app and tap the "Rooms" tab, then tap "continue to sign in", sign in with your phone number or email address, create a password or use an authentication code that will be emailed to you. Once logged in, you can begin navigating "Rooms" to see classes, and "Messages" to read, reply, or send a message. Parents and guardians are already enrolled in the system and synced with their child(ren).
You can still use the platform without the GMCS app. Simply open an internet browser and log in to Thrillshare.com to access your Rooms.
When a staff member sends you a message:
Without the app:
You’ll receive a text with a link to view the message.
With the GMCS app:
You’ll receive a notification through the app.
Either way, you can easily stay connected and keep up with messages from your school.
Rooms are designed for classroom-specific communication between teachers and families. They do not replace school-wide communication. Schools will continue sharing events, announcements, and updates on their websites and through other district channels like sms and emails. The GMCS app makes it even easier to keep up with it all in one place.
